medicube Deep Lifting Peptide Eye Cream 30ml is a rich, cushiony eye cream built around a five peptide complex, made for the delicate skin around the eyes where fine lines and loss of firmness show up first. The peptides do the lifting work. Acetyl Dipeptide-1 Cetyl Ester and Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 are the two medicube puts on the front of the box for elasticity, and they are joined by Acetyl Hexapeptide-1, Acetyl Octapeptide-3 and Copper Tripeptide-1. Underneath that sits a genuine collagen complex, atelocollagen, procollagen, hydrolysed and soluble collagen, plus four forms of hyaluronic acid for hydration that holds through the day.
Ceramide NP and squalane support the skin barrier, shea butter and panthenol soften, and niacinamide and allantoin help calm the look of redness. The texture is rich but not greasy, so it sits happily under concealer rather than creasing it.

A note on size
Most eye creams come in 15ml or 20ml. This one is 30ml, so you are getting between a third and double the product for a price that sits below what the 30ml sells for elsewhere in New Zealand. It is the reason so many reviewers mention using it on laugh lines and around the mouth as well as the eyes.
An honest note on fragrance
medicube describe this as an eye cream for sensitive skin, and the formula is gentle, but it does contain fragrance and alpha-isomethyl ionone. If you react to fragrance near the eyes, this is not the one for you, and we would rather say so here than have you find out at home. Patch test behind the ear first if you are unsure.
How to use
After serum and before your moisturiser, take a small amount on your ring finger and tap gently along the orbital bone, under the eye and out towards the temple. Do not drag. Morning and night.
Questions and answers
Is 30ml really an eye cream size?
Yes, medicube deliberately made this one larger so it can be used across the whole eye area and beyond. Used twice a day on the eyes alone it will last several months.
Will it cause milia?
The formula is on the richer side, which is what gives it the cushion, but it is designed for the eye area rather than adapted from a face cream. Use a small amount and tap rather than rub. If you are prone to milia, start with night use only.
Can I wear it under makeup?
Yes. Let it settle for a minute before concealer.
How long until I see a difference?
Hydration and smoothness are immediate. Firmness and the look of fine lines are a longer game, so give it four to eight weeks of consistent use before you judge it.
Is it safe to use with retinol or tretinoin?
It contains no actives that conflict, and plenty of people use a peptide eye cream alongside a retinoid routine. Apply the retinoid first and let it absorb.
