Run the sponge under clean, lukewarm water until it expands. Squeeze out the excess water, then gently press it in a clean towel. It should feel soft and damp—not dripping wet.
Apply your foundation from the centre of the face outwards, using a gentle bouncing or patting motion rather than rubbing. Wash the sponge after use and leave it in a well-ventilated area to dry completely.
Dampening the sponge helps it absorb less of your foundation, so more product stays on the surface and transfers to your skin. The softer sponge also bounces more comfortably across the face, helping you apply foundation in light, even layers without a heavy or cakey finish.
As long as you squeeze out the excess water thoroughly, it won’t dilute or ruin your foundation.
